Longview Little Free Libraries project
Our neighborhood won a grant for improvements. As part of this we are going to build 10 little free libraries and distribute them evenly throughout Longview. We will custom build and paint the libraries- we will also host a painting party for anyone who wants to help- date TBA. After we get all the libraries made and installed we want to create a Longview Little Free Libraries tee shirt as part of the project- it will feature a map on the back of the neighborhood marking where all of the libraries are located. The tee shirt will be free for any neighbor that wants one. The map will also be posted on the LNA neighborhood website and social media!
We would like people in Longview to volunteer to host a little free library on their property. We will build and install the libraries. The volunteer would be responsible for general maintenance. There are several book libraries already in our neighborhood so we would like to focus on doing different types of libraries. Each volunteer will choose what type of library they would like to host. Some ideas are-
-Seed Library
-Miniature Art Gallery
-Food Pantry
-knitting/yarn library
-other ideas? Submit below!
Depending on how many volunteers we have we may not be able to accommodate everyone- since we are making 10. We will choose volunteers based on location and idea so we don’t have duplicate libraries right next door to each other.
